Swim Lessons

Swim lessons are available to Cross Creek residents ONLY. Children must be at least 3 years old and if not potty-trained, must be wearing a swim diaper.  Parents must remain on-site in case of emergency.

Classes are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Class times are determined by class need (grouping age and skill together). Typically the younger kids are in the earlier sessions while the older kids end up in the later sessions.


2024 SESSIONS:

June 24-28th M/W/F (short session – 1 week)

July 8-19th M/W/F (2 week session)

August 5-16th M/W/F (2 week session)


PRICING

$45.00 per session. There are no refunds for missed classes.

The short session is just $22.00


CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Introductory Level:  

This level is for children who have no prior experience swimming, or who have had lessons but are still uncomfortable in the water.  This class has an emphasis on basic water safety, pool entry and exits, breath control, supported and unsupported front and back floats with kicks and basic arm actions.   

Beginner/Intermediate Level: 

Give your child a greater sense of confidence and independence in the water. Skills include front and back glides with kicks and basic arm actions, rhythmic breathing, combined arm and leg action, jumping into shallow water.

 Advanced/Stroke Class:

Advanced level swimmers are comfortable in the water and can swim for short distances already. Focus is on stroke technique for freestyle, and introducing backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, and developing the swimmer’s endurance level. This class may be held in the deep end.


TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES:

Download and print the form below, fill it out and take it to the Rec Center. If you do not have a printer, you can grab a form from the desk during pool hours.

Payment is not required until you receive confirmation of the class time. Once you receive confirmation of the class time, you will need to bring a check to the Rec Center to reserve your child’s spot.
