Can we bring guests to the pool?
YES! Our normal guest policy has been resumed and the guest fee is still just $1.00 per guest! Guests attending more than one swim session for that same day do not need to pay again.
How early can we arrive for Open Swim?
Open Swim starts at 12:00pm, 2:00pm and 4:00pm. The doors will open 5-minutes prior for check-in. Please expect a busy check-in for the first few days as we have many new lifeguards and all guards need to verify registrations.
What happens if I arrive late to an Open Swim Session?
You can still swim- just keep in mind that the swim session does end at a specific time (1:30, 3:30, 5:30) and everyone must leave at the end of each session (except adults who arrived early for Adult Swim). There is no entry after 7:00pm (pool closes at 7:30).
Do we really have to leave at the end of each Open Swim Session?
Yes. Just like at a normal pool- when the session ends, you need to leave and take all of your belongings with you. There cannot be any youth in the pool area during the Adult Swim sessions and we understand this will be an adjustment for everyone. For those with children, you might consider getting them out of the pool 5-10 minutes early to allow time for showering. The only people who do not need to leave are those who are there for “Adult Swim” (age 18+)
Can I come back for another Open Swim Session later in the day?
Of course!
Are there still 30-minute “Adult Swim” sessions during the daytime?
Yes! At 1:30, 3:30, 5:30 and 7:00pm. Adults who desire more than 30 minutes are welcome to arrive early- during Open Swim or stay late into the next Open Swim session.
Can kids play arcade games during the “Adult Swim” sessions?
No. Not during the Adult Swim sessions. There cannot be any minors in the Rec Center nor in the pool area. They can play arcade games during all of the Open Swim and Family Swim sessions- that’s 6 hours of game time available!
What is Family Swim?
Family Swim requires that adults are IN the pool with their children, but you do not need to have children in order to participate in Family Swim. Family swim starts at 6:00pm and is typically a calmer environment than Open Swim. Family Swim ends at 6:45 pm UNLESS nobody shows up for the “Adult Swim” session that immediately follows. In this case, the session is extended to 7:30pm.
Do Families get kicked out if someone shows up for Adult Swim?
Remember, Family Swim ends at 6:45pm. Adult swim starts at 6:45. There are many days where adults don’t come to utilize Adult Swim…. and when that happens, Family Swim gets extended- until someone does show up. We can see how it feels like you are getting ‘kicked out’, but you need to remember- Family Swim ends at 6:45. Any time beyond that is bonus time- be thankful your time was extended later!
What time does the pool close?
The pool closes at 7:30pm. There is no entry after 7:00pm. All patrons must leave the facility no later than 7:40pm.
Can we rent the pool for a pool party?
Yes! The pool can be rented for private parties- on Friday nights or Saturday nights only. The pool and rec center will be closed to residents starting at 6pm. Pool parties include 2 lifeguards who will remain on site for the duration of the pool hours, which are from 6:30-8:45pm. Can we rent the Rec Center for a party?
During the pool season, the Rec Center can be rented as part of a pool party, but cannot be rented separately. If you are interested in renting the Rec Center for a private event after the pool season ends, please visit the Rec Center Rental page.
How old do my kids have to be – to go to the pool without me?
Unaccompanied minors must be age 10 or older. Children age 7-9 must be accompanied by someone age 14+. Children 6 and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (18+).
I heard there’s a swim test that needs to be done before we can swim in the deep end? What is the swim test?
The swim test is a skill test to determine if the person has the endurance and skill needed to swim safely in the deep end. This test is administered at the lifeguard’s discretion, regardless of age. Deep end privileges may be revoked if you appear to have difficulty in the deep end (even after successfully passing the test). The swim test will not be administered during busy times. There is no pushing off the wall, stopping at either end of the pool to catch your breath, nor any breaks between laps.
The swim test is:
100 feet of freestyle/crawl (4 laps- swimming back and forth twice)
100 feet of backstroke (4 laps- swimming back and forth twice)
60 seconds of treading water
Why do we have lifeguards when some other HOA pools don’t?
While most HOA’s and apartment complexes don’t have lifeguards- some do!! We aren’t the only one! And pools that aren’t staffed with lifeguards DO have volunteer or paid staff monitoring and managing the pool and participants, either directly or indirectly. Most of those pools don’t have a deep end, either. Our pool is 9′ deep!
The Cross Creek Homeowners Association makes safety a priority and we will have lifeguards on site whenever the doors to the pool are open.
